The following provisions apply to all legal transactions arising between Ernst Mändli AG and the customer. Unless otherwise agreed, these General Terms and Conditions (GTC) shall apply.
Bookings can be made by telephone, in writing, online or in person. The contract is valid once the customer has received written confirmation. Cancellation is possible within
3 days after conclusion of the contract.
Ernst Mändli AG shall be liable for damage caused by employees or other auxiliary persons in the performance of their official or business duties while exercising due care. If a participant acts negligently or disregards the safety instructions of the staff or posted signs, the liability of Ernst Mändli AG is excluded. Under no circumstances shall Ernst Mändli AG be liable for damages incurred by the customer in connection with services provided by third parties.
Any claims for damages must be addressed to the third party.
As soon as the customer has received the ticket for the course/event trip or the reservation confirmation for the extra trip, the reservation is considered binding.
The term «course trips» includes the «3A 30-minute round trip», the «3B Grand round trip» and the «3B boat trip to the Rhine Falls». The term «event cruises» includes the «Rhine Falls Brunch boat», «Ship & Wine», the «Sluice tour to Eglisau» and the «Rhine Falls fireworks».
The confirmed departure times must be strictly adhered to. Ordered food (drinks, aperitifs, etc.) must be paid for in all cases. The installation of ship decorations must be discussed and authorised in advance with Ernst Mändli AG.
In the event of compelling reasons (unfavourable meteorological conditions, natural disasters, unrest, strikes, government measures, technical problems, etc.), the trip may be changed or cancelled. No guarantee is given for adherence to the confirmed journey time. In the event of cancellation, the customer will be refunded the purchase price.
Dogs travel free of charge on course trips, provided they are well socialised and kept on a short lead. The dog must have a dry coat and must not sit on the seat. Dogs are not permitted on event trips.
Bicycles require a children's ticket. There is no obligation to transport bicycles.
The rebooking/cancellation of a confirmed course trip can be made in writing or by telephone up to 48 hours before departure. In the event of cancellation, 85% of the purchase price will be refunded.
If you miss the boat due to a delay, you must purchase a new ticket to take part in the next possible trip. A refund is not possible.
In the event of cancellation of an event trip by the customer, the following fees will be

Ernst Mändli AG reserves the right to cancel an event trip at least 4 days before the event if the number of participants is insufficient. In this case, the customer will be refunded the amount already paid or offered an alternative date for the same service.
If the number of persons stated in the reservation confirmation changes, this must be notified in writing and without being asked at least 5 days before the date of travel. If less then 30 passengers turn up on the date of travel, the maximum number of participants stated in the confirmation will be charged. If more passengers turn up on the day of travel and there is sufficient space on the ship, they will be charged additionally.
The following regulations apply to school trips: If the school trip is postponed or cancelled entirely due to bad weather, Ernst Mändli AG must be informed of this in writing and without being asked by 10.00 a.m. the day before at the latest. If we do not receive any notification by then, the boat trip will automatically be regarded as confirmed. The boat will be made available for you accordingly and the boat trip will also be charged.
All consumptions must be ordered at least 5 days before the date of travel. This information is decisive for invoicing. Later changes can no longer be considered.
We offer drinks and snacks on a self-service basis. Payment is made exclusively by invoice to the e-mail address you provide. (Please understand that we cannot collect the consumptions individually from your guests).
We are happy to provide you with a service person free of charge for an aperitif (drinks with a snack) for groups of 30 or more .
If your group consists of less then 30 people and you would like a service, this can be booked as an option for CHF 25.00 per service person and hour.
For our «party boats», i.e. a cruise with a «main course», a service is provided on the «large party boat». On the «small party boat», the table is set and the food is served by the skipper.
Cancellation of the confirmed order must be made in writing. Ernst Mändli AG charges the following processing costs:
Any delay must be reported to Ernst Mändli AG immediately by telephone. If the timetable permits, the boat can wait for you. CHF 60.00 per boat and half hour will be charged for this. If delays cause bottlenecks in our timetable, the trip can also be shortened or cancelled completely. The invoice will be issued in full in accordance with the confirmation.
The date of receipt of the written notification by us is decisive for calculating the cancellation deadline. In the event of arrival at weekends or on public holidays, the next working day shall be decisive.
Payment for the «3A 30-minute round trip» and the «3B Grand round trip» can be made online or at the ticket counter on site. Payment for the «3B boat trip to the Rhine Falls» can be made online or to the skipper directly on the boat by credit card or in cash.
The event trips «Rhine Falls Brunch Boat», «Ship & Wine», «Sluice tour to Eglisau» and the «Rhine Falls Firework» can only be booked and paid online.
For extra trips (including school trips), we issue a total invoice by e-mail after the event. Invoices are issued in Swiss francs (CHF) or euros (EUR) including the statutory VAT rate.
Other forms of payment must be agreed in advance and confirmed by Ernst Mändli AG. Once the invoice has been issued, payment by voucher or credit card is not permitted. The payment period is 10 days net. We reserve the right to agree other payment terms, including advance payment, in writing.
As soon as the customer has received confirmation of the purchase or revision/overhaul of the boat, this is deemed to be binding.
The invoice is usually issued in Swiss francs (CHF) including statutory VAT. After confirmation of the order, a payment on account of 70 % is due. The balance is due within 10 days of delivery/collection.
We reserve the right to agree other payment terms, including advance payment, in writing.

The relationship between the customer and Ernst Mändli AG shall be governed exclusively by Swiss law.
The general terms and conditions listed here are an integral part of the contract.
